TwentyTwenty is dedicated to ensuring young people, aged 16-24, who find themselves disadvantaged and disengaged, achieve sustained further education or employment. Our aim is to help young people to recognise their worth and potential; focus on building the skills for success; and develop a clear vision and plan to achieve sustained employment and a bright future.
Since 2007, our award winning charity has supported over 2000 vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged 11-24 from across the East Midlands who are disengaged from, or not in education, employment or training.
Most of the young people that we support come to us with a history of being told they’ve failed and they therefore don’t believe that they deserve a successful future. The educational side to our programme is employability-focused; we teach work-ready skills and attitudes in addition to functional skills. To bring the curriculum to life, we work with a number of local businesses who kindly provide their time to support with the facilitation of skills workshops (e.g. mock interviews, CV writing), provide company tours and engage in networking lunches. In addition, many go even further and commit to mentoring a young person on a one-to-one basis for up to a year.
